Project overview

The problem:

The goal

Busy people who need menu application with
more information about food ingredients and
the possibility of filtering categories of menu
items.

Our menu app for fancy restaurant will let
users
enjoy informative ordering experience
through transparency of ingredients list and
nutritional facts which affect users with busy
lifestyles by giving them the ability to search
and find food and wine on the menu, that
satisfy their wishes and health regulations.

My role

Responsibilities:

Lead UX designer, UX researcher , Designer for
Menu app from conception to delivery.

User research, paper and digital wireframing,
low and high fidelity prototyping, conducting
usability study and iterating on design.

User research: summary

I conducted unmoderated usability study and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for their needs. A primary user group identified through research was restaurant guest with higher income. This user group confirmed initial assumptions about our customers. They love to eat healthy organic food and enjoy top quality wines.

Takeaways

Impact:

The app makes users feel like Restaurant menu app really thinks about how to meet their needs.

What I learned:

While designing Restaurant menu app, I learned that the first ideas for the app are only the beginning of the process. Usability studies and peer feedback influenced each iteration of the app’s designs.
