The problem:

Busy people lack the time necessary to prepare a cake.

The goal:

Our Website for Bakery will let users enjoy informative ordering experience, which affect users with busy lifestyles by giving them the ability to search and find cakes and cookies on the menu, that satisfy their wishes.

My role

Lead UX designer, UX researcher , Designer for
Menu app from conception to delivery.

Responsibilities:

 User research, paper and digital wireframing,
low and high fidelity prototyping, conducting
usability study and iterating on design.

Understanding the user

User research: summary

I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for andtheir needs. A group of key users identified through surveys typically buys cakes and enjoysfamily time, but does not have time to to prepare a cake and cookies.Through conducted unmoderated usability study of this user group is confirmed initial assumptions about our customers. They love to eat cakes and cookies and enjoy a nice family gathering.

Problem statement:

Maria is a busy teacher and caring mother who needs responsive website to make online cake order because she does not have enough free time for cooking and wants a nice family gatherings.

Impact: 

The website makes users feel like My Bakery website really thinks about how to meet their needs.

What I learned:

While designing My Bakery website, I learned that the first ideas for the website are only the beginning of the process. Usability studies and peer feedback influenced each iteration of the app’s designs.
